One-on-One Coaching

2For executives, managers and individuals. Coaching will help you hone your most important personal and business goals. It also helps you identify your own values and beliefs to make decision making easier and more meaningful. Coaching can help you understand what is behind any frustration you feel or struggles you currently have in your life. It also nourishes your self-confidence and inspires you about where you are going in life. Evaluate your work-life balance and get it moving in the direction you want. Margo and every coach she recommends through Coaching Without Borders is certified at an institution which is accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Moreover, Margo and the majority of her associates are certified through The Coaches Training Institute (CTI). CTI is part of the ICF and is the oldest and largest in-person coach training school with 35,000 students trained and courses provided in 19 countries. CTI was founded in 1992 by Karen and Henry Kimsey-House and Laura Whitworth. They developed the Co-Active Model that encompasses a philosophy, a methodology, a skill set and a communication form that balances self-awareness, relationship intelligence and courageous action so that people can be deeply fulfilled, connected to others and successful in what matters most. www.thecoaches.com

Typically a one-on-one coaching relationship lasts 6 months to 1 year, though some clients take more or less time to complete their goals. Coaching sessions are usually 1-2 hours and take place in your offices or by phone or skype. Usually they take place every 4-6 weeks depending on your needs and preferences. Contact Margo for more information or to set up a sample session.

Leadership Development

DSC_8081For current and future managers and leaders. Since 2005, Margo has travelled the world running leadership programs for some of the leading companies of the world. Clients include Siemens, Swiss Re, Baloise, Nespresso, eBay, Chanel, AutoGrill, Sony Pictures, FIFA, and more. Sometimes the programs are completely designed by the company, and Margo delivers the program and coaches the participants. Often, Margo is also involved in the design process, and yet other times Margo comes together with trusted colleagues to design and deliver leadership programs tailored to the needs of the group or organization.

Adults learn through experience. Theoretical courses and books about how to deal with people only address a fraction of what is getting in way of YOU PERSONALLY being a better leader. In order to understand how you will deal with a certain situation, a participant needs to feel what it is he/she really does in that moment. By throwing him/her into a situation and giving personal feedback on what his/her impact is on others, the learning taken away is much deeper than memorizing methods alone. When that is the then backed up with research and proven theories about human behavior, each participant walks away with a deep and personalized understanding of how to take more leadership in his/her own life. Some topics within leadership trainings are; conflict management, influencing, motivation, change management, coaching, collaboration, listening and asserting, trust, team building, communication, dealing with ambiguity and complexity, cultural sensitivity, authentic leadership, confidence, presentation skills and more.

Leadership development programs are intensive off-site training which can be broken up into more than one module over time and including a preparation and follow-up phase. It is very important that the participants feel they are away from their daily business in a safe, confidential learning environment where they can fully focus on themselves and their learning without interruption. These programs raise the bar and create an opportunity to experiment with new approaches. Programs can include a project involving stakeholders that has a real business impact for the company.

One-on-one coaching during, in-between and after the modules supports the participants to put what they have learned into practice under the demands of daily life (and protects the ROI of the training!).

Team Coaching and Facilitation

IMG_4152

Having alignment around strategy and vision is just as important to success as understanding the people that
work together. When working with teams, the whole system has to be taken into consideration; the manager, the team members, other stakeholder and the organizational culture they work in. All of these contribute to the successes and challenges of each team. It’s critical to take time to reflect and clarify what is important to the team, and do so in a way that allows space for both logic and emotions. Then, a sustainable vision and strategy can be hatched which stimulates the intrinsic motivation of everyone involved.

Laying the foundation for a Team Vision can be done in a one-day workshop with Margo. The team will start by aligning on their values and mission, and then really exploring a variety of questions around the purpose, strengths and challenges of the team. The end result is a direction which can be used as a source of motivation and a compass by which to keep the team ‘on track’, even when the going gets tough. It is often valuable to anchor a Team Vision session with follow-on team coaching.

Team coaching is an on-going relationship. It is kicked off with a two day off-site, followed by a series of 2-3 hour team coaching sessions on a monthly basis for 6 months. Then, follow-on team coaching sessions can be organized ad hoc as needed. Depending on the size of the team, the coaching may be co-lead by Margo and a trusted colleague. The Whole Leadership Program

bannerWhole Leadership is a journey kicked-off with a two-day intensive workshop where participants are given experiences that stimulate deep self-discovery and reveal what masculine leadership and feminine leadership are.

The Whole Leadership Program creates the opportunity for participants to have intensive insights about their own natural leadership style. They see how they typically deal with situations and where they may have an imbalance in their life. People discover they typically have strong tendencies in the way they react to situations. In becoming Whole Leaders, participants learn to respond, rather than react, in a way that they choose. They learn to determine how to respond in a masculine (action, task, autonomy) style or feminine (relationship, yielding, caring) depending on their needs and the needs of the situation.

The two-day workshop co-lead by Margo and her trusted colleague Arzum and is followed by 6 months of personal coaching by either Arzum or Margo. The learning is anchored in an additional workshop together with other members of Whole Leadership Program at the end of the journey. Of course, the leadership journey for participants continues for their whole lifetime! www.whole-leadership.net
This program can be offered in-house and is also available to the general public in Switzerland and Turkey. Contact Margo to learn more!

Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

workshop

MBTI is the oldest, most verified and trusted typing tool. It is at the basis of almost every other
typing/teaming instrument you will find out there. It is based on the research of famous Swiss Psychiatrist Carl Jung, and was created in the 1940’s by the mother-daughter team of Katharine Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers. It is a brilliant tool to understand ourselves and others that they way we work (or not!) together. Understanding MBTI brings about a new acceptance and appreciation of people who previously may have driven you crazy. It also helps you understand how to get the most out of yourself and others.

MBTI Step I gives a basic understanding of peoples’ 4-letter type (e.g. ESTJ, INFP, ISFJ etc), while MBTI Step II looks deeper into the facets of each of those letters and how one person with an ESTJ type differs from another ESTJ person.

Margo and her colleagues are certified to administer the MBTI tool. Your team completes a questionnaire followed by a half-day session (Step I) which explains the theory and helps participants understand their own profile. Whole day sessions can be used when you are intersted in using the Step II questionnare and want to go into more depth about how to apply the tool. MBTI can also be integrated into a Leadership Program.

Margerison-McCann Team Management Profile (TMSDI)

1The Team Management Profile is an extensively researched and proven psychometric tool that shows how personal development is the critical first step to high performance teamworking. A 4,500 word report looks at where your motivation lies, how you can best contribute to team success and how you are likely to lead, manage and link with others who may have different perspectives on the world of work. It can be used for personal development, with managers and leaders, but is at its most powerful when used to build and sustain high energy teams.

Like MBTI, TMSDI looks at individual preferences, but goes a step further by overlaying team roles with personal preferences. It shows where there may be a dominance of a certain type in a team and certain people gravitate toward certain behaviors in teams.

Margo and her colleagues are certified to administer the TMSDI tool. Your team completes a questionnaire followed by a half-day session which explains the theory and helps participants understand their own profile. Whole day sessions can be used to go into more depth about how to apply the tool. TMSDI can also be integrated into a Leadership Program.
